24 weeks 6 days

When we were dating for a few yaers the question was "when are you getting married?" After 6 years we got engaged and the question was "So whens the date?" We finally tied the knot, and the day of the wedding we were already asked the next big question. "When are you having kids?" followed closely by "So, hows married life treatin ya?" Now that we have a child on the way the inevitable "when are you due?" is flying around, and I am sure the next question is "are you guys gonna have more?"

Yep, you are so right there, as soon as they're born it's.."so when's the next one then?"
We have 3 and people said after the first two..."Are you mad?"
xx

Evie,

Thats awesome! LOL "Are you mad?" I have 5 siblings and I think it was the best thing ever growing up poor in finances but rich in family. I would choose family over money any time. They used to ask my parents "are these all fromt he same marriage?", and my mom would get all pissed off and say, in the sweetest tone "yes they are all from the same man". ROFL but we could tell she was irritated and we would giggle. My mom is 50 and she looks so much younger I think she has like 5 grey hairs. Amazing genetics on that lady. LOL her mom has 6 kids too. :)

Mike,

People are certainly curious about all sorts of things. I imagine you've already had questions about how you are going to raise your son... "are you going to breastfeed?" "Will Lori be staying home with the baby?" "What will you name him?"

And yes, even after you have a child, there are questions about the next one, and the next one. Even after three there are questions about our FOURTH -- to which I give an emphatic "Oh, there won't be a fourth. We're done!"

I love our kids so very much, and it is so difficult to imagine life without even one of them. Our little "surprise" boy just turned one year old yesterday. They are all so much fun... parenthood is certainly an adventure!

Kelli,

I totally forgot the "are you gonna breastfeed?" question! LOL Poor Lori is accosted by that one at every turn. Its funny tho because now we tell people we are going to just so they will shut the hell up about it. :)

I want everyone to know that Kelli is my blogging inspiration. I was introduced to blogging after reading her blog years ago when I worked elsewhere. She is a great writer and a kickass chick. :)

Mike

P.S. Did I mention she's funny as hell too? :)

Mike!

You flatter me! Thank you, kind sir!

You were my blogging inspiration right back! My journal was sadly limping along due to lack of time to update properly when I realized "HEY! I could start a BLOG!"

On the "breastfeeding question", sometimes, "We haven't decided yet" is a good way to go, too. Later on, you'll have a bunch of people, who you said "yes, we're doing that" to asking you why you changed your minds. :)

The questions, questions, questions got to me towards the end of our second pregnancy. It was the end of JULY, the doctors had been telling me "any day now" for THREE FULL WEEKS and I was uncomfortable and cranky and whenever someone at work would ask "Are you still here?!" or "How are you feeling?", I got crankier. Sometimes, at the end, there is no safe question except "Did your water just break?"

And Mike, you so totally rock as a human being. Seriously.
